Covers the story of indigenous peoples of the Southwestern United States: AZTL.
Course Reflective Narrative:
This course was all about the history and modern day culture of Aztlan indigenous people in the Southwestern part of the United States. There was a lot of focus on people who migrated from around the world to Arizona and the amount of indigenous people that can be found in this state. For this reason this course fulfilled MLO 3, which is Literary and Cultural Knowledge.
Although the course was taught online I still found myself learning a lot and researching extra things that we had learned. We started back in history and worked our way to modern day so that we could see how different things are from past to present.
This course helped me to better understand indigenous groups that can be found all across the United States and this course helped me understand their current struggles, as well as their culture and history.
I found the concepts we discussed in class applicable to things happening in our modern day society and in this sense I was able to gain cultural knowledge of the United States and the different ethnicity groups.
