Course Reflection:
By taking this course I fulfilled MLO 3: Literary and Cultural Knowledge. Through the course of the semester we read many novels in Spanish about Mexican culture and history. I really enjoyed taking this course because I was able to learn more about another culture, as well as expand my vocabulary in Spanish. One of my favorite novels that we read in this course was, Los de Abajo, which was a story about bandits who took part in the Mexican Revolution. I found the story very fascinating and related much to the history of Mexican. Another story we read in this class was, Pedro Paramo, which is one of the most difficult novels I have read, but was a great way to expand my knowledge of the Spanish language.
By taking this class, I now feel I have a better idea of some of the most famous Mexican authors and literature, as well as a better grasp of the history of Mexico; especially the Mexican Revolution.
I hope to continue learning more about Mexican history through more novels and stories.
Attached below is an essay I wrote about Los de Abajo, where I analyzed the characters and story and what everything represented.
